EVENT : Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival : Texas Gulf Coast

The 3rd Annual Galveston Food and Wine Festival kicks off on April 19 and features wines from around the world. Last year’s event included 23 vineyards and over 100 different kinds of wine, and this year the event expects to surpass those numbers. The 3rd annual Food and Wine Fest starts April 19th with entertainment continuing through April 22nd. From $20 to $115 there is a package that fits any budget and enough wine selections to satisfy the most discerning palate. Galveston Island’s Uptown Entertainment District turns into a food and wine lover’s paradise, with specialty food items, culinary events, sophisticated parties, and live musical entertainment. Enjoy wines from around the world paired with delicious local food, and learn first-rate tips from popular chefs and renowned winemakers. Here is a sample of events:

Premium Wine Tasting and Gulf Seafood Showcase
April 20th from 6pm-8pm
The Premium Wine Tasting and Gulf Seafood Showcase returns this year for the true gourmand. Come and enjoy premium wines from vineyards around the world and decadent gulf seafood hors d’oeuvres from Chef Chris Lopez along with exclusive art exhibits.

Grand Tasting in the Park
April 21st from 2pm to 5pm
The Grand Tasting in Saengerfest Park is the highlight of the festival. Patrons will embark on a tasting trip through vineyards from all around the world, enjoying over 100 wines. While getting their wine passports stamped, revelers will be able to taste food from the finest restaurants on the island. The fantastic live music and the barrage of artisan exhibits along the park will complete this afternoon of indulgences.
