Key West Songwriters’ Festival : Florida Keys

The 17th-annual showcase of musical magic features America's foremost performing songwriters, with concerts staged in intimate, audience-friendly island settings.

Celebrating its 17th year, The Key West Songwriters Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the world. Since 1997 BMI has been a charter sponsor of the festival and has helped it grow into both a tourist attraction and favorite of island locals. The festival revolves around five days and nights of more than 20 free shows, staged at an array of the island’s most popular drinking holes and hot spots, where live music bliss introduces crowds to the faces, voices and stories behind the songs. Diverse lineups featuring more than 100 top songwriters deliver rare, “Key West-only” moments: Informal adaptations of Nashville’s signature in-the-round acoustic showcases dominate much of the schedule, while an event-capping street concert adds an enticing Mardis Gras fillip to the mix.

EVENT : Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival : Texas Gulf Coast

The 3rd Annual Galveston Food and Wine Festival kicks off on April 19 and features wines from around the world. Last year’s event included 23 vineyards and over 100 different kinds of wine, and this year the event expects to surpass those numbers. The 3rd annual Food and Wine Fest starts April 19th with entertainment continuing through April 22nd. Grand Tasting in the Park
April 21st from 2pm to 5pm
The Grand Tasting in Saengerfest Park is the highlight of the festival. Patrons will embark on a tasting trip through vineyards from all around the world, enjoying over 100 wines. While getting their wine passports stamped, revelers will be able to taste food from the finest restaurants on the island. The fantastic live music and the barrage of artisan exhibits along the park will complete this afternoon of indulgences.

DIVE-IN THEATRE: SAN DIEGO'S COOLEST MOVIE EXPERIENCE

The Pearl Hotel presents "Dive-In Theatre," a FREE weekly "cinema social" combining eclectic film selections, food and drink, and light conversation. The event takes place at our poolside lounge and theater located outdoors and connected to Restaurant at The Pearl. Scheduled films are projected onto a 10' x 13' foot projection screen with full sound, overlooking our vintage, oyster-shaped swimming pool.
